Step 1 of your climb

My resume

Start with the way that's easiest for you. Ascend keeps one main resume to score your fit for every job, and you can tailor a copy for each application.

Three steps to a stronger application

A simple path from a resume draft to a focused application.

1

Add your resume

Upload your resume as a PDF or Word file, or paste it in My resume. It saves automatically, and every job shows how well you fit.

2

Find and score roles

Search open roles, sort by best match, and check missing keywords before you apply.

3

Tailor, apply and follow up

Tailor your resume for each job, draft a cover letter, rehearse with the coach, and log the application with its next step.

Employer career sites

Search employers' own job sites

Ascend doesn't list every job. Search for an employer to see its jobs on Ascend, or open its official careers site in a new tab to see everything it's hiring for.

More places to search

Links go to each employer's or agency's own site. Ascend isn't affiliated with them, and their tools (like resume tailoring) don't carry over. To tailor your resume for a job you find there, copy the posting into "Tailor for a job".

About us

A clearer path to your next role

Ascend is an independent job search platform for people looking for work in any field, from healthcare, education and the skilled trades to retail, technology and finance. We bring open roles from hundreds of employers across the country into one place and pair them with practical tools for preparing strong, well-targeted applications.

The idea came from our own job search. Openings were spread across dozens of career sites, each posting called for a differently tailored resume, and tracking applications meant maintaining a spreadsheet by hand. We built Ascend to replace that scattered process with a single, organized workflow that takes a candidate from discovery to offer.

Ascend is operated by a small, independent team. It is free for job seekers, and it is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any employer whose roles appear on the site.

Our mission

We believe every candidate deserves a complete view of the opportunities available to them and the tools to present their experience well. Our mission is to make a professional job search more transparent, more organized and less time-consuming, so candidates can spend their energy on the applications that matter most.

Who Ascend serves

  • Early-career job seekers looking for a first role, an internship or an entry-level position.
  • Experienced professionals pursuing their next step, in an office, on site or remotely.
  • Hourly and skilled workers in healthcare, retail, hospitality, logistics and the trades.
  • Career changers moving into a new field and looking to show transferable skills.

How Ascend works

  1. We gather openings.Automated scans check employer job boards, Built In, The Muse and remote job feeds several times a day, covering roles nationwide. New roles are added as they appear, and closed roles are removed each morning.
  2. We organize them. Each role is sorted by role type, industry and location, with remote and US filters, so you can narrow thousands of openings to the ones that fit. Priority roles also get a concise summary of the posting.
  3. You prepare.Upload your resume, tailor a version for each job, see which keywords you are missing, rewrite bullet points, draft a cover letter and rehearse with an interview coach.
  4. You apply and follow up.Apply directly on the employer's site, then track each application, its stage and its next step in one place, with reminders when a follow-up is due.

Our principles

Apply where the job lives

Every listing links to the employer's own posting. Ascend never submits applications or contacts employers on your behalf.

Your information belongs to you

Your resume, saved searches and applications are private to you. You can review or delete them at any time from your profile.

Transparency over guesswork

The resume score uses published rules you can see. AI-generated summaries are clearly labeled, and pay is shown exactly as the employer listed it.

Free for job seekers

Search, resume scoring, saved searches and the application tracker are free. The AI tools run on your own Claude account.

Looking ahead

Ascend improves every day. Our priorities are adding more employers in every industry and region, especially healthcare, education and the skilled trades, adding posting summaries to more roles, and refining the tools candidates use most. We build with one question in mind: does this help someone find the right role and present themselves well?

Questions people ask

Where do the jobs come from?

From employers' public job boards and career sites, Built In, The Muse and the Jobicy remote-jobs feed, covering roles across the country. New listings are added every hour, and closed ones are removed each morning. Ascend links you to the employer's own posting, so always check the details there before you apply.

Who writes the role summaries?

Summaries are written by AI from the employer's posting. They can miss details or get something wrong. Pay ranges are shown as the employer listed them. The full posting on the employer's site is the source of truth.

What happens to my resume and applications?

When you're signed in to Claude, your resume, saved searches and application tracker are stored privately in your own account. Otherwise they stay in this browser only. Other visitors can't see them.

How do the AI tools work?

The bullet rewriter, cover letter, interview coach and tailoring advice run on your own Claude account and ask your permission the first time. They work when this page is open in Claude. The search, resume score and tracker work for everyone.

Does Ascend apply for me?

No. Ascend never submits applications or contacts employers. You apply on each employer's site, and you decide what to send.

Do I need an account?

No. You can search, save jobs, upload your resume and track applications without signing in, and they're kept in your browser. Signing in with a free Claude account keeps them on every device and turns on the AI tools.

Can employers post jobs on Ascend?

Not at the moment. Ascend lists jobs from employers' public job boards and career sites, so the best way for an employer to appear is to publish openings on its own careers site.

Terms of use

Ascend is free and provided as is. Listings come from third-party sources, so we can't guarantee a job is accurate or still open; always confirm details on the employer's site. A real employer will never ask you to pay to apply. You're responsible for what you submit, and AI suggestions are a starting point to check, not advice.

Is Ascend connected to these employers?

No. Ascend isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any employer listed. Company names belong to their owners and are used only to identify each job.
